Yes you must declare it.
It did not come as standard with a PPP.

PPP can only be fitted on ANY Impreza AFTER registration to the first owner and AFTER the vehicle has been insured by the owner.
NON have been manufactured with it fitted, as they would not pass the emissions regulations for importation of new vehicles into the UK.

The ONLY Imprezas that are classed as std (i.e. listed with ABI) with PPP are WR1, and WRX300 (not UK 300).
Additionally 2005MY only WRX and WRX STi's that had it fitted at the time of first registration with the first owner, are listed on the ABI classifications as a std car.

But they still had to be registered and insured before it could be fitted, even if it didn't leave the showroom until it was fitted.
They are registered, and then technically become secondhand cars so can be modified.

Read the letter I wrote to Peter Kinnaird Subaru UK Managing Director and his reply.
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=415477
I also wrote to Sam Burton the previous Subaru UK MD and to Dave Richards ar Prodrive about this issue.
Do a search on my user name in the insurance section.

Cheers

I had a PPP kit fitted to my MY06 WRX and it only cost an extra £23.50p to declare it to my insurance company (along with a prodrive rear spoiler) and so it would be silly not to declare it considering the cost and obvious high risk implications to your level of cover etc..I`m with First alternative by the way. And now all my modifications are listed on my policy I have the peace of mind that everything is properly covered , which is priceless

Yes,
2005 WRX STi (301) is with PPP.

2005 WRX (261) is with PPP

The std 2005 WRX and 2005 WRX STi must be classified the same as 2004MY and upwards.
I didn't spot them at first glance as they are not listed with the 2005MY cars.
Cheers

Default Latest Quotes

Tesco renewal...£568, Direct Line...£449, RAC..£417.
Others coming in above Tesco...£600 to £1200.
All from Moneysupermarket/Thisismoney sites, with the 301 version of the STi. Even if it says the company won't quote on these sites try going direct to there homepage, thats where I got the Direct Line quote.
None of the so called scooby specialists come close either
