Summary of this year's insurance highway robbery:

UK MY00 Impreza Turbo, no mods.

[Didn't phone as many companies as usual this year]

Privilege (current insurers) - £760 [500 excess]
AA - £1200 (ho ho ho)
Tesco - £1100
Greenlight - £696 [300 excess]

So Greenlight get it. Tescos were at a loss to explain why it was so high - the bod on the end of the phone was convinced it should be lower but the computer wasn't playing.

If you have a policy with Greenlight they offer track day cover from 30 to 60 per day, depending on the run-off available. As I only do airfields, it should work out at the cheap end of the sclae.

Priv. always used to include track day cover, which is why I stuck with them, but they no longer offer this.

Tesco were only £60 more expensive for me on MY00 with the same cover and I am 25 with a write off and a CD10 conviction/ 5 points earlier in the year.

 

I think tescos really don't like some postcodes. 27, no accidents, no claims, no convictions, married, full ncb, 1450... Garaged, tracked, cat 1 alarm, ...

It is a black art, this insurance game.
