I am just about to go through the claim process with Elephant. They have asked for a mandate to approach DVLA for my record. Is this legal?
I don't mind passing on a specific query to DVLA and then forwarding their response, but a mandate to get all my details seems a bit heavy handed and unnecessary. Anyone here been askd for this?

I have read a recent Elephant thread on here and am now worried about their competence and fairnesss.

Hi - this is quite frequent from a wide range of companies.Provided you have told them of any convictions you should have nothing to worry about.

They asked the same for myself. Didn't see/have any probs with it as i've nothing to hide. Think its just one of the checks they have to do.
