Default Greenlight won't quote for Manchester postcodes?

Just filled out the on-line form for Greenlight to get a quote on my new MY06 WRX. Got an e-mail back saying:

'We thank you for taking the time to complete an online quotation enquiry.

Unfortunately the details entered into the system do not fit the required criteria for our specialist schemes.

However, if the vehicle is standard or only has a few minor modifications, we would recommend that you contact A Quote on 0800 298 2836 who should be able to provide a competitive quotation for you.'

So is that saying they only insure modified cars, that isn't how the sponsorship things reads at the top of this forum??

And they also added an additional bit of information:
'Due to our poor claims experience we no longer quote for Manchester postcodes'

What a load of bollox. Is Manchester really that bad? In 6 years of owning Subaru's my car has never been stolen, neither has my brother in laws. In fact i'm now 30 and lived in Manchester all my life and i do not know anybody who has ever had the car stolen. Am i just lucky.... why tar all Manchester postcodes with the same brush, it's a big place. To just blanketly no quote is riduculous... rant over!

So looks like A-plan are still way ahead of everybody else

Tony.

If you ring them up they might be able to quote you.

Internet quotes don't take into account you experience.
Speak to them and advise them how long you have lived there without making a claim and they might be able to help you.

Worth a try.
