NU Direct,
Word of advice, If you have a partner, wife etc
you may find it cheaper with them on the policy

One other piece of advice....ALWAYS check the paperwork to make sure they have done the correct car.

I know of more than one person who had their Turbo insured as a GX, and a Escort Cosworth owner who had it done as a RS2000.

I did hear that a few companies just type in model (ie Impreza) and engine size and just choose the first one on their screen.

Be careful guys and gals

£1700 with NU about the cheapest so far but not exactly cheap, think I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and pay if I want a faster car.

Also, think: "can I afford TPFT" By this I mean, what if you are unfortunate enough to write off your car....... or have your car written off by somone who is uninsured or who contests fault. Basically, in the first case, you're left with no money and no car. In the latter cases you might get something back, but no-where near the value of the car.

Ok, so if you've paid £500 for the car it may be a risk worth taking, if your car cost 5 grand, however, then I'd agrue its worth paying the extra few hundred quid for piece of mind.

Its an expensive car to insure per se, you may as well pay extra and be fullly protected than still pay lots only to get nothing back should the worst happen.

Just my two cents..

Ture on my current car 323 bmw worth about 2k now I was gonna go third party but there was no point as it the only £200 more for fully comp. For me to go 3rd party on a 5 grand car it would have to be quite alot cheaper sayin that though even if I was fully comp and my car got written off I probably wouldn't claim because of the affect on my NCB, sad but true.
