Default 106 gti looking to swap onto an sti type r in a few months..

I am currently driving a 106 gti, however having finished uni I am looking to get a new car. I want to get an sti type r but unsure of how to go about getting someone to insure me on the gti for now but will definately swap it onto the subaru in a few months time.
I am 22 with 3 years no claims and stay in a good post code. Who would be best as I am worried that when it comes time to swap it the company will not do it then I am stuck with that insurance for a year unless I lose all the money and no claims built up in part of that year.
What companies are likely to do this? As I know someone who knew an under writer that put a note on the policy which allowed him to swap when he changed to the higher insurance group car. But the person they used has moved jobs so I am looking for some advice.

thanks in advance for any help.

Yep, anywhere between £2500 - £3000 is about right, although it would drop a lot @ renewal once you have owned the car for a year (presuming you have no claims that year!!!)

Ring me if you want an exact price - 0208 6427868 (Gary Moulson)

Ive been driving 5 years, but I was on my mums insurance for the first 2 years as I couldnt afford a car while at school or first year of uni. So only had my own insurance for 3 years. I have had a quote of around 2100 it was but the excess was stupid, plus it was with some company quote-a-car off that confused.com.

Ring around the brokers (Keith Michael, Greenlight etc).

Most direct companies won't quote at all because of your age, and internet prices can often be very incorrect (hence a quote i was given of £1300 with one company, which actually turned out to be £3150!!!!)
