Default Recommendations ... modified import, safe-risk driver

Hello all,

Going through the quote merri-go-round at the moment, trying the usual suspects. Any suggestions or comments on this lot:

Car is a '95 WRX with coilovers, exhaust and brakes uprated, driver is claim-free for 15+yrs, one SP30. Always go for the cheapest possible insurance cos I don't crash (in 20 years of biking and driving) except occasionally on trackdays for which I'm not covered anyway.

Tesco £555 tpft but requires Tracker (which is another £93 per year) or not depending on who takes the call (get told different each time I call)
£735 comp

A-Plan £510 tpft protected-ncb (only £20 less if unprotected)
£650 comp protected-ncb

Greenlight £597 comp, no tpft for vehicles >£2.5k value

Chris Knott not quoting for Impreza/Evo/M3 currently since their previously competitive underwiter pulled out due to 50% of their covered Imprezas being written off !

Endsleigh - totally crap queueing system, gave up trying.

Liverpool Victoria - not quoting for mods

Hope this may be useful for someone. Anyone have further suggestions?

Am surprised at how high these numbers are, frankly, having come from a Corrado VR6 in the last year. Wonder how much of this is determined by theft and how much by driving-like-a-****, some of both I guess...
