Insurance and Mods
Rang up direct line tonite to see about fitting the new firestorm back box I ordered, they say I have to pay an extra £127 quid on top of my premium, as it might add about 5bhp to the car, I tried to explain that it wont make any real world difference to the car. It's an 02 Wrx Sti, they say this is a standard price for any mods that increase the power from 1-10% what a load of crap.
At the mo I am paying about £1200 on the STI, I am 25 with 5 years ncd.
Any advice on this ie, what can I say to them to reduce the cost or I am screwed.
Cheers Jdub

sorry mate but that's the way these crap insurance companies work. they will not reduce it no matter what you say about your exhaust. go to a specialist that understands mods and they will not hit your premium because of a backbox.

looks like I will have to pay it and change to a different company next year, after being on the phone and net for hours direct line were the only company to give me a decent quote for a jap import sti, even with the add on for the back box its still better than all the insures quotes I got with out one and direct line are meant to be quite good when it comes to making a claim, so I guess I will have to count my blessings for now, a back box is pretty much all the performance mods I am gonna do in the next year, Any way whats an extra £20 a month for that flat four rumble!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers guys.
