Unfortunately it may be age that is not on your side

If you were 25+ I'd hazard a guess that you'd find it easier to get insurance.

Keep persevering and go through as many as you can, you never know, one might take you up on it

Have a look at the following two threads (if you haven't already) for an idea of people to try. Also have a trawl through the previous posts in this forum as there may be more ideas from other younger drivers

Are Tesco still good for younger drivers?

They're **** if you have to make a claim tho. I know from experience, and so do a few others. Do a search for threads for them.

Or he could have lived in the Isle of Man where you can learn to drive at 16 (as I did) ... always upsets the computers when they ask you your DoB and how long you've been driving for

Nice one, wish I had thought of that.

Only thing you can do mate is keep trying, alternatively just for the sake of it, try getting quoted on a uk turbo - see if you have more luck there, the Jap imports are a lot harder to get insured on.

Nearly all places wont touch you on an import till you are atleast 25.
I got insurance on my 99UK turbo from 22 so you should be able to get a quote on one of them, however expect it to be the high side of £1200 and that's with a rural postcode and loads of security.

my brother is 23 with 5 years ncb protected and with tesco on his octy vrs and we phoned up for a quote on a imported p reg sti. would not give a quote till he was over 25 (26). so hit a wall

so i phoned up being him asked to speak to underwriters,, no problem,
explained that i (him) had a history of preformance cars, no claims made and driving for 17 yo. walla!!!!1

a quote of £1347.43 pencewhich i think was great so just always ask to speak to underwriter, show you are responsible and have a history of preformance car ownership and driiving and aint stepping out a 600 cc uno into a 220 bhp scoob and you have a lot better chance of a quote.

As above mate, I think your best option is a Uk turbo. I'm 21, 2 years NCB, renewal due on 1st September, it's going to be £2900. Depends how much you want one...
