Question

Hi all,

I am currently living and working in Cyprus and have bought myself a MY01 STi to buzz around in. My question is - Should I return to the UK (which is due fairly soon) and wish to bring my car back with me (highly likely!), what modifications are required to pass the relevant SVA? (or is that ESVA??)

Has anyone (including Import Companies) come across any major difficulties with the import of these vehicles?

I know that it will require the Speedo changed to 'mph' and a rear foglight fitted. But what else will need done? (Is the remote alarm within the legal Freq range for UK?)

I'd be very grateful for any help or advice that can be given.

Cheers!

Hi there,
Yu will also need to ensure the car has a fuel neck restrictor to allow only unleaded fuel nozzle to fit.
You may also like to know that there is now an SVA station in Cyprus, run by the British DVLA. I think it is in Larnaca, by the airport. Give them a ring and they can help.

Cheers

Thumbs up

Cheers V5! I'll try and get in touch with them.

Would anyone know of an individual or import company who has brought a MY01 STi into the UK since 01 Aug 01?

Or anyone who has had to put this car through an Enhanced SVA test??

I could really do with getting a copy of their test results!! I'll buy a copy of it off them if necessary!

KWS (getting desperate)

If your car is fitted with gas discharge front lights it will need UK spec lamps to pass the SVA. I believe they are £350 each.
Heres hoping you don't
