Engine Re-builds - Do I tell Insurance Company?

I guess it depends what has been done at the rebuild, if you've put HKS (or similar) bits in then I would tell them, though they probably won't know what it means! Still better to be safe than uninsured!

As I've always said in the past, it is better to tell your insurance company absolutely everything that you do, and let them decide if it's a mod or not.
They will use any excuse they can to refuse a payout (after all they are in business to make money) so don't hand them any on a plate!!.
When I claimed for vandalism in 99, the first thing the assessor did was check the tyre tread.

I would check with the person rebuilding the engine and find out if anything is different from standard.
If there are upgraded parts, get a list of changes in writing.
Then contact the insurance company regardless and tell them.
Better to be safe than sorry.

Hi, as long as anything is not visible when looking at the engine bay then dont tell them!what they dont know wont hurt them!lets face it they charge far too much for the service they provide anyway so why fill there coffers anymore when its not needed!!
