Question £318 EXTRA FOR NOT HAVING A DRIVE !?!

Hiya all.

Just about to buy my first impreza (2003 WRX).

Rang my insurance broker. Real laugh?

Happy with the original quote (£1024, 34, 4 yrs NCD, no points or accidents, wifey also to drive)

BUT.....£318 extra for parking it on the road (not even a main road) than if I had a drive?

For £318, I could demolish the front wall and build one, but she wants the lawn.

It will have a Tracker and an Alarm.

I told them that it had a Tracker and alarm ( no tracker fitted yet to the one I'm buying)

Has anyone else had this problem or are Tesco taking the mickey?

Also, does anyone have any ideas as to whats the best deal at the moment for an insurance approved Tracker? I want a Quality one, not a Mickey Mouse one.

Thanks.

Screw the lawn (and the missus ) ...and build the drive

It's the same with pretty much every insurer, any excuse they can find to charge you more

I cant.
It's her money buying it.

Hence me not getting an STI, she doesn't like the big spoiler but thinks that the WRX one is ' cute '

Buy a STi and swop the spoiler mate, a much better base car IMHO

Sounds very expensive - phone around. I'm 36, full NCB + wife to drive + business and payed around £450 with Privilege.

You should phone around. Mine is £530 fully comp with my missus. I'm 34 and don't have a tracker and only factory alarm. Went with norwich Union Sports car insurance.

They obviously know the exorbitant price of wing mirrors! How many hundred £'s for a lump of plastic and a bit of glass!
