Could try AXA Direct (phone no in Yellow Pages)..they are the first company in my other current thread in this forum about cars with SS back boxes.

I *think* NFU prefer older drivers, but give them a ring too, 'cos their so helpful

I found my local NFU rubbish.
Imported UK spec car according to them is not same as UK sourced car as regards getting parts after accident.
They were adamanet the car is an import and parts are a problem. I politely told them that if they couldn't get parts for my car then they wouldn't be able to get parts for a UK sourced car. They were having none of it and more or less put phone down on me. Boss of NFU office phoned me back later to say they'd checked with underwriters again and they would not insure it.

Tried another NFU office 20 miles and they couldn't be more helpful. Checked with underwriters (presumably the same ones) and no problem. Quote was competitive.

I have had quotes on my insurance for a UK car from £3000 to the best which is £794. I have 6 points and 1 non fault accident 4 years NCD. Give these guys a ring they are dead helpful and insure with leading companies, they specialize in imports and Jap cars in general.
Performance car specialists: 0870 845 8888 ask for John Roberts.

Darren.

You could try Norwich Union Direct as opposed to Norwich Union...

Just renewed with them.. open to haggling and allow up to 3 mods on the car which is nice and they are quite good when you need to make a claim....

Worth a call....

Try Adrian Flux Specialist Vehicles (you will have to haggle though) tel. 08700 692202.

Me (26) full no claims & girlfriend (25) with 3yrs no claims, parked on street. Current mods:-

Exhaust, Suspension, Filter, Brakes, Wheels and Unichip

Cat1 alarm

£860 - Best I could get. Tried all the others listed in previous threads but they all insisted that I fit a tracker.

Privilege are now part of Direct Line and allow 'mods' Good price and now that I've had to make a claim (not my fault), first class customer support.

I don't know about Direct Line not allowing mods, perhaps engine ones, but I am with them - my UK car has 17" wheels, an sti V rear wing, colour coded skirts and minidisc head unit, and they have covered me OK, they don't seem to know anything about cars - my rear wing is on their computer as a low level rear spoiler, 'because that is the only kind that can be fitted', but agree that as long as you don't plan on making contact with them, they do insure quite cheaply.

Hi

I to am looking round for insurance @ the moment.
Try A-Plan 08450711234 or Catteral on 01772550000.

A plan have given me a very good quote which is less than I paid last year when everyone else has benn mostly £300-400 dearer than last year.
Catterals are currantly sorting out a quote and also helping me get a remewal figure from AXA as Quick Fit who I went through last year no longer deal with the specialist under writer they used last year to get the deal with AXA.

So far greatt service recieved from both companies.

Good luck

Chris.

I'm with Privelege 22, 96 turbo 3 yrs NCB no points, £960. Which I thought was very good. Just adding on a full Magnex this weekend, £63 increase. Worth a try...
