Hi,

I may have to lay my car up for a period (possibly 1 year?) when I won't be driving it AT ALL - ie, it won't be on the public roads at all, so I don't need 3rd party.

Is the insurance for fire & theft ONLY really low for a Scooby Turbo? DO insurance companies do this? Who are the specialists in this department?

I have a long term rebuild project (Triumph Stag - 12 years so far, 2 or 3 to go!) that I use to have F+T. When the premium got up to £80 or so, I thought it wasn't value for money since its only a bare shell, with all the bits in the house/loft/lockup garage.

To cut a long story short, I eventually got it as a named item on my house insurance at no extra charge - I persuaded them it was just a load of bits and not a car at all

..but maybe you don't want to take the scoob apart just to do this!!
