Non-fault claims
#1
Does anyone know if you are obliged to inform your insurance company if you are making a claim against another party's insurer?
By claiming thorough your own insurance, and relying upon them to get the money back from the third party (as opposed to doing it yourself), are you not loosing the ability to answer "no" to the "Any claims regardless of fault in the last 5 years?" question?
Cheers in advance...

You have to tell your insurance of any accidents that you have been involed in regardless of fault it may affect your insurance if the other party is uninsured or it goes over to your new policy year.

Cheers Tony.
As I feared really.
You are penalised for someone elses bad driving, as you have a claim history. At renewal date your insurers bump up your premium despite it being no fault of your own.
I am going to get some of those fenders that you put over the side of a boat when docking.
