After spending two days with the telephone stuck to my ear, and an extensive look through all the previous comments that have been published, I have ended up with two quotes.

£1622, £100 Excess, Barclays. 17k Insured value
£1384, £500 Excess, Keith Michaels, 15K insured value.

Based on:
24, 5yrs NCB, UK Spec 5dr Turbo.Kent.

Does anyone know of any better? Have read about SIDC doing insurance is this up and running?

If you haven't tried them already Direct Line are quite good if you have never made a claim, had an accident and are free of points. I am paying around £1200 for a 23 year old, full no claims, 00MY 4 door in Glasgow. So I would not expect yours to be any higher than this.

It just doesnt go on how old you are for insurance it also goes on your post code, the ammount of accidents in that type of car in your area, your occupation, age and ncb.
thats why at 31 full ncb prot, 4 accidents 2 fault 2 non fault (but all non fault just police messed it up) im paying 980 quid for a 4 dr my00 with a manchester post code, if you want cheap insurance dont live in manchester!! (direct line)

I have had quotes on my insurance for a uk car from £3000 to the bset which is £794. I have 6 points and 1 non fault accident 4 yers NCD. Give these guys a ring they are dead hepful and insure with leading companys, they specialise in imports and jap cars in general.
Performance car specialists: 0870 845 8888 ask for John Roberts.

Darren.

Cool

Cheers for all your help.

Managed to get a result from Tesco's for £1305.00, £250 excess and any car can be insured there for up to the value of £30K, P1's are you listening???

Tom from Schofields aka. RUM (think of the drink) also pointed me in the direction of another company which may even beat this price, although I admit I haven't tried it yet, he gets my vote as well - very informative kind of guy.

Pick up my car this weekend, so I'll be seeing you at the next Scooby meet whereever it is, preferably a track day (I'll be the one in front, jesting).

Cheers once again.

You are kidding aren't you. I rang NU Direct yesterday - MY00 UK car, 27, 6 years no claims and was told "We don't insure that type of car".

All I can say is try the internet site. It would appear someone is telling you porkies!

I had the confirmation of the quote through the post this morning. This is with only a £250 excess!

I also phoned them directly and asked what difference an increased excess would make to the policy. A £650 excess brought the premium down to £897. Again I have had confirmation by post of this as well.

Regards,

James.

Tesco's are just tops. They quoted me £1500 on a NSX and £1250 on a Boxster S!!

I'm 24, 4 yrs NCB and the excess is only £250 excess!!

That's just brilliant! Imagine my quote when I'm 25!
