Just wondered who has the cheapest insurance on a UK Scooby, and with who? Can anybody beat mine - MY97, no mods, full NCB, 32 yrs old, myself and wife, Croydon postcode - £410, with Churchill.

I have just been in contact with them, and they apparently will not quote on my MY00, personal import from Holland - Bit of a bugger, eh!!

Any other cheaper quotes as I am paying a fortune at the moment?

Dear All

If u r all really pissed off with Insurance Companies, then give the Insurance Factory a try.

I'm just about to buy my first Scooby (MY99)

I'm 27 with NO NCB, I wrote my Company car off in Dec '99, witch amounted to £8000+ that the company had to pay out

I live in a low risk area (according to there records) the car can be parked on the drive or in the garage, it's got a cat1 alarm and they are still giving me a quote for £1047. And if I add my fiancee, who's 28 NO NCB as well it's £1447. Also with quote I get RAC (Gold cover) + Upto £1000 cover on an ICE system.

So if u got any NCB then you'll be laughing.

Give them a call on (0121) 6226006 and speak 2 Scott. This is not a plug. I just thought that I got such a good deal that I should share it with u guy's.

Chris.

I got a great deal from Wilsons (quoteline), here goes.

I have Full NCD but it is assigned to my other vehicle, so I am classed by most companies as having no NCD, I also had a claim last year for vandalism, so most companies poo pood any suggestion of an introductory NCD.

Car is a 96 Impreza Turbo, it's parked on street, and only has the factory CAT2.

Anyway Wilsons offered me full introductory no claims with AXA for the agreeable sum of only £550.00 (next best quote was £1500.00 worst quote was £3800.00!!)

Chuffed......

I can vouch for Churchill!!! I was with Bell Direct. Quote from them went up by £130 to £650. Phoned loads of companies..none could beat it except for Churchill ... £545. All drivers have to be over 30.

MY99
Wife to drive also
Garaged overnight
Thatcham 1 and Tracker (although I don't think the tracker made any difference)
1 minor non-performance enhancing modification

Insurance Factory didn't even try to quote me!

I renewed with Greenlight a couple of weeks ago. UK 97MY 4-Dr , 26, 3years NCB, SS BackB, ITG filter.

My renewal went up by 150quid to 1150. Greenlight was best at 842! This includes cover for current mods - will also cover full SS exhaust at no premium and further mods on disussion AND for between 30-50pounds track cover is included!

Best deal by MILES.....

I suggest that everyone contacts AXA Direct on 0800 747 576 before they think they've got a good deal - you never know!!!

Churchill were the cheapest by a significant margin but could not insure my wife (age 28) to drive as well. Best I could get was Greenlight at £870. (31 yrs, Full NCB, Glasgow address).

£390 with "RAC Direct" FC PNC £350XS. I am not exactly young, have big NC and live in Suffolk. Has usual Scooby tail pipe/filter but they wont allow anything else. I have another quote through Greenlight for £535 incl track days for when I get the 270 horse ecu.
