Insurance scam?

Insurance scam?
Not being happy with the present insurers of my lads car, which is in my name, I've been inputting data onto insurance sites to get online quotes.
Came across one where I was looking at continuing in my name or going to his name.
I put in my details and got quoted £1260, with zero ncd, which I'd forgotten to enter.
I thought it looked promising, as most 1st year ncd is 30%, or so?, so I inputted the 1 year ncd we've earned, and was shocked when it only went down by £120, or about 12%
I rang to confirm and was told that new starters get a "discount" too, so the amount I'd get off after 1 year was actually less than it should be.
Sounds like a scam to me?

Nope....not a scam....generally if you haven't had insurance before (on that particular policy) then you will receive an introductory no claims bonus/discount, worth generally 25%...
