Switching insurers mid-claim?
I have a claim currently on-going with Direct Line, but seeing as my insurance is due in 6 weeks I don't think the claim will be through by then and I'm planning on switching to someone cheaper.
Anyone know how I stand?

AFAIK, you are free to buy insurance from whoever you choose.
However, most Insurance Companies will suspend your NCB until the claim is completed - even if it's not your fault.

same happend with me about 2 months ago with direct line.
I switched to admiral when my policy ran out due to it being £300 cheaper.
Got a cheque from directline about 3 weeks ago.
Directline will sort the claim out for you as the claim has been made when you had your insurance with them, and they have to sort it out by LAW!
You may notice that they drag their heels a bit though as you are no longer a customer of theirs......they did with me, but a call every week to annoy/remind them soon got them to sort it quickly for me!
