Lightbulb Privilege, good prices at the mo'

Well, it's renewal time L&V dropped the renewal through the post this morning, but I'd already been having a look around on the net anyway. Best by a long shot was www.privilege.com who quoted £544 on an 03 WRX with Leeds (hence expensive) postcode. Full NCD, no points etc. The website didn't have anything about mods so I called their helpline to discuss the PPP. With protected NCD and the PPP declared the price shot up to £750 but it is still £230 cheaper than L&V. Makes me wish I'd just bought an STi, as it would be about £80 cheaper to insure that, but then again, I'd have PPP'd the STi too

I can't help but wonder how some people insure Scoobs for less than £400

They are old, LOL.

Mine used to be in the 400's with L&V but it's been pushed above £500 this year. I'm only 35 though with full NCB and a low risk postcode.

I think you've got a good quote. Limiting the mileage might help, without lying.

I'm 35, with 15yrs NCD, no points since an SP30 in 1994. Big city postcodes are the real killer, especially Leeds (up there with Manchester/Birmingham/Newcastle/Scouse) and you can hear them rubbing their hands with glee when you mention mods All the people I know with mod'd cars love them, drive them with care (mostly ) and are mature, sensible people. But I suppose if you give a dog a bone It stings that the silly little biatch who in a braindead la-la carefree haze ploughed into my other car whilst parked the other day, pays £6 less to insure her French diesel POC when she is quite obviously a greater risk than me in a 265BHP Scoob. FFS, it took her 12 attempts to pass her test

I know still quite high but I'm happy with that.

I'll make that two! Cheers Priviledge were only £704 for me, aged 25. £822 if I wanted to protect my no claims discount. Still pretty good! Rest were 1k plus!

You're right, they are good value just now - only thing is I need a tracker - which my current insurer doesn't make a requirement.

In which case the insurance quote has just increased by £100 per annum, plus the cost of the unit itself

My renewal earlier this month with Elephant was £930. The lowest quote I got was £870ish with NUDirect. I phoned Privilege as a last ditch attempt and was quoted £528 with legal protection and guaranteed hire car. As I already had the tracker fitted (but not subscribed), I spent £120 out of the £400 saving on an annual subscription
