Latest Privilege Insurance ads
Has anyone seen the latest advertising campaign from Privilege that guarantees to beat your annual renewal on a like for like basis so long as you have 4 yrs NCB?
My LV renewal went up £80 so I gave them a bell.
They told be that unless I fitted a tracker that they would be unable to cover me against theft! I explained that it wasn't a condition of my current insurance to fit one and that the ad states 'Like for like'. Made no difference though!
Is it me or does anyone else think that this sounds like misleading advertising?

They should be forced to honour their advert or change it.

I agree with comments above - Privelege have some strange practices:
(1) I took a policy with them 2 years ago, and then got an insurance certificate from Direct Line, the sister company. They covered me through DL without telling me.
(2) April this year I moved house, within the same village, literally two streets away. Most importantly, the car went from driveway parking to garaged overnight. I was expecting a small reduction in premium, BUT, oh no, a £300+ increase in premium overnight. No points, accidents, claims, convictions to disclose, 34 years old - how could this be?
Crap excuse I was given "the postcode (only one character had changed) is considered a higher risk because of the claims history on that road, and there must be an accident black spot close to your house". Well I do know that one of my neighbours, was done for D&D and now has a new Carrera, but an accident spot close to my house !! Sorry I thought they covered you for driving 15k miles per annum wherever you are driving.
I 'phoned in connection with the advert, given that I am DL insured, and they have also failed to honour it.
Anybody wants to put in a complaint against Privilege then I'll back it.
