This Is Really Getting Me Down!
I'm 20 years old, and i'm interested in buying muddy's 93 show-car. but i can't get any insurance company to even quote me!
most of them are saying come back when your 25!
i tried elephant, and they said they wont even think about insuring me until i'm 21 at least! I DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER 8 MONTHS TO GET ME A SCOOBY!!!
i know this has probably been asked a million times, but PLEASE, someone give me an insurance company that will insure a 20 year old on a scooby!
thanks!

Tesco have changed their policy for under 25s and imports, basically you wont get insured. Mine was due for renewal and they wouldnt do it as std.
May be better to go for a uk one as they would insure me on a uk, just not an import

you tried Rossboroughs to get that high quote?
im from Jersey, paying 1400 fully comp on my 1997 Scooby Turbo 2000 (UK)
im 22
5yrs NCB
my renewale is due in september so will be 23 + 6yrs NCB... hoping for a lower quote!
whats weird is that my policy through Rossboroughs is through Norwich union.... i phoned Norwich direct for a quote and i had to be 25!!!! laughable really!

Yes that quote was from Rossboroughs
Ive tried a few uk companys Tesco, L&V, Esure, Elephant but all say 25-30 years old minimum or that they wont insure people in Jersey.
The depressing thing is that i thorght getting the loan was going to be the hardest part but got the ok for that now just cant get a reasonable insurance quote.
Only problem is i only have 2 years NCB
Was thinking about going named driver but then i would only be TPFT and not really a good idea on a 20k car.
What colour is your scoob James?

I wish I could have afforded a Scooby at 20. Are you aware or the running costs of a Scooby? Servicing, tyres, petrol (optimax)???
I've wanted a Scooby for ages (about 5 years) and I'm still no where near getting one, I was so close to buying one when I was 20 (2 years ago) but I realised that after I'd paid the loan, rent, etc. I'd have no money left for petrol
Honestly leave it, buy a house instead, it’s a much better investment
Also editied to say, run a search, this is asked almost weekly.
