I'm with them and v happy - although haven't had to claim at all.

I beleive some people have found them pretty useless when they have had to make a claim - no doubt they'll post their experiences soon :-)

Default ELEPHANT

I've now just tried admiral. web site is identical to elephant (like the way you can add the mods) but its worked out a further £20 cheaper. Looks like its admiral?

Yep - I used Elephant for second car (Scoob Turbo wrx 04) - cheapest by a long way - you can play about with the 'whats your lowest quote elsewhere too!'

I use LV for my highly modded car - as its the only one thats really competitive

also use elephant - just had a total loss claim - no probs - paid out quickly - only thing is you need to phone them for progress reports - they dont really contact you except when they want paperwork.

good prices too

They're ok untill renewal time, then they put the premiums up,but you can haggle with them. Also, they charge a fair bit for mods(about £100 pa for an exhaust).

Charge for an exhaust with Elephant for me was about £30....................... they load by a specified low percent - so if you paid £100 your insurance must be circa £2k to start with

Mate was with elephant when his mk3 golf gti decided to burst into flames on the motorway.

They were crap keeping him informed of what was happening, and everytime he rang up they would say "oh we haven't done anything as we are waiting to you to send these forms in". He had sent them in ages ago recorded delivery, and when you tell them this they spend 10 minutes faffing and go "ah here they are, right now we need this..."

Also offered him a stupidly low price for the golf, L reg mk3 8 valve with over 100k on the clock, but in the end they gave him 2800 for it! This was about 1 month ago.

So if you can live with the constant chasing when you claim they are v good, personally I don't mind as much as yes you have to keep chasing them for updates and progress, but they do deliver.
