They seem to be doing good quotes at the moment, but are they ok with mods? I dont mind if they charge a little bit, but as long as they actually let you!

They have done all three of my Scoobies over the past few years. I'm paying bout £530 per annum, WRX 03 plate 12K of mods inluding an extra 180bhp. No tracker just factory alarm/immobiliser and me and the wife covered to drive. Covered for 6000 miles per annum and I'm 25. Low risk post code though, parked off the road too.
Very good service, but not used them for a claim. Toutch wood

Thanks for that.

So do they charge extra per mod, or per % bhp increase, and what are the charges like?

Thats a cheap quote btw

Put it this way, my first Scooby was a MY98, UK car with little mods, P1 wheels and Blitz exhaust. Dont think i told them about the mods as they were carried out after the policy was started. Then after a few years I changed to an STI 5 Type RA. 310bhp etc, you know the score, fast as ****, no mods and no wacky alarms. I expected a big jump, but no, £10 for changing the paper work. Stunned, I even double checked and they said it was correct. When I bought the new Scooby they were the same £10 for the paper work and not really interested in the mods. The bloody thing is costing about 35K to raplace if it goes missing! Cant understand them , but as they say never look a gift horse..........

HI SOOB
Eh?!?!

I pay over a grand aged 29 4 years NCD (they only do up to 5), very few mods, lowest rated postcode. How do people get a quote like that?

They most certainly do charge for mods and are pretty picky about them - ie not taking some.

They are very good in a claims process and email all letters to you as they write them instead of waiting for the post.

Indian call centre at nights and weekends leaves a LOT to be desired and they are aware of this,

Brian.

I always get a good quote from them if I don't put my 3 points on, as soon as the points go in - forget it!!

We use them for the Smartie, the seem good for that.

Mate of mine has a TT 225, they were cheap for him.

Elephant were the only people who not alone quoted me a decent price, but would actually insure me! The other companies said "You need to be over 25 to insure that car!" (Broken Record!!!!!!!!!)

I've just emailed greenlight. I rang back tesco to accept their quote and they mentioned that they insst on a tracker!!! So it looks like it will be NU direct unless greenlight pull something out of the bag?

For info, NU is £565 with no breakdown cover.

The cheapest by a long way > I have used them for 4 years with various cars. The only problem was I had a small claim and the body shop they recommended was BAD, car went back three times

I spoke to them when I bought my 04 Sti UK and said if I ever had to have repairs done could I select the body shop they said yes as long as I get two quotes.

They never seem to know what’s going on, double checked my quote as it was the same with PPP as it was without . Still so far so good and yes PPP was added and it’s on the document
