Your insurance company will need to know about all mods to the car as if you have a crash or it's stolen and recovered and they send one of their assessors out, they will do their utmost to wriggle outta not paying you out.If I were you I'd look for a more mod friendly insurance company.Have my modified 01 WRX insured with Liverpool Victoria and they're fine with mods. Not sure if they quote for under 30's though (I'm 32)
Good luck
Nick
P.S: I've been young once and have had modified cars and not told the full truth about what I've modified but basically,I was lucky and never had a crash etc etc.... Tough decision but best if you value your car, tell them about everything you've done to it!!

Allways tell your insurer about all your mods.... At the end of the day you are asking that company to insure you for your car and pay you if anything untoward happens to it, so its only right you tell them everything about the car they are covering. If they are conserned about a particular mod they will tell you & you then have the opportunity of discussing it with them.
