i have been trying to find a quote for a 1992 wrx, as where i stay i wont be able to get the insurance my self but im gonna put my mum as the main driver, to keep the cost down for a couple of yrs so i can get some driving experiance, i went and got a quote on 1st quote for a scooby sport 2ltr 1996 and they came back with £353 for fully comp, but i am not sure how much more i would have to pay for a turbo. am i better starting with the sport then getting a turbo in a couple of yrs time

Better to get a uk turbo model. A 92WRX is an import and will probally cost twice as much to insure

First off, insurance companies are wise to the "named driver" thing. If you're the main driver, you need insurance in your own name...

there are turbo owners on here under 25. you just have to shop around. when I was 24 last year I paid £1100 on a uk turbo with 5 yrs ncb.

Be careful insuring it in your mothers name, with her as the main user and you as the named driver, the companies are aware this goes on (fronting) and if there's a claim it can render your policy null and void. Your best bet is to build up you No claims discount 1st (1 or 2 yrs) and then start looking at a scoob.
