Want to run a second car for 6 months until the tax/mot etc run out,can you get 6 months policies?

I don't think you can. Just get a good even rate on the monthly payment, then cancel!

You can do a six month policy, best to give a Broker a call for that. Best not to insure a car on Direct debit and then cancel, as your not paying for the insurance month by month, its just spread over the agreed months as a benefit for you. Plus they will still recover any monies owed after/if its cancelled in this way.
