Off the road insurance

Hi there,
Just a quick question. TBH at the moment my poor car is off the road and the cost of repair means I cant fix it this month. Also the tax and insurance is needed tommorow (ie ran out today). Can I get it insured whilst off the road and also would it affect my NCB because it is off the road ?
