Question

Had a wee prang in my Golf yesterday (in stealth mode!) Bloke stopped in a hurry on a main A road to let someone out of a industrial estate, bloke in front of me hit him, and I hit the bloke infont (3 car pile up!)

How do I stand with insurance and no-claims? Afterall, if the first bloke hadn't of stopped in a hurry, then it wouldn't have happened!

Your views/experiences would be helpful

Thanks

If you rear ended someone then you were driving too close to stop in the distance you could see to be clear. In other words you are to blame. Sorry, but try leaving a decent gap in future is the only useful advice I can give.

Sorry, Little Miss Fire, but there'll be no escaping this one... What ever you try, you wont get out of causing the damage to the back of the guy in front. On a positive note though, you should be able to argue you weren't to blame for the guy in front of you hitting the 1st guy, & therefore you wont be to blame for his damage & the damage to the front of the guy in front of you !

AFAIK - the bloke in the middle will get away with it - similar thing to an old mate and his insurance had to fork out for repairs to all 3 cars.

What did I say about VW brakes last week...

I would imagine that the only way the bloke in the middle will get away with it is if he claims that you pushed him into the car in front of him. So I would make it very clear that he had already hit the car in front by the time you hit him.

Thanks all for the advice. The guy in the middle seemed reasonable, and he thought that the guy in the front stopped for no reason also.

Suppose I'll just have to take the hit on my NCD
