Have an MY03 owners on here had trouble insuring their cars due to the insurers not knowing what it is???
I managed to insure mine with tesco in march for a few quid over 4 figures, now (just out of interest) i went back on their website and did aother quote but this time using the registration number of the car to identify it.
It said my car was an IMPORT!!
My car is full UK spec bought from a UK dealer. Anyone else had this? (the reason im bothered is that this new quote came out at 1500! 500 more than what im paying now!
Cheers,
Neil
If anybody else here as insured their 03 car with tescos i suggest you try the same as i did.

Mines a '02 but I had the same import argument with more than a couple of companies when I got mine, reason being that the only previous Scoobs called WRX's were all imports. Had a right argie with some snotty nosed youth trying to call me a liar!!

Probably the best thing to do if you are keen to go with a specific company would be to fax them a copy of your reg document with the chassis number blanked (or partially) blanked out to show the reg by dealer at new part on it,

No specifics, but.....
Under 30, over 25, wife and myself covered, unlimited mileage, 03' WRX 4dr, WR Exhaust - Cover for under £800......
Suggest you 03' owners try Privilage insurance.

I have had three ins companies tell me the car is an import and one said it was an SL version.
It's easier to do the quote without the registration mark.
They all also class it as WRX AWD.
Eventually got quote of £550 inc legal and replacement car, fully comp/protected, no tracker, from Belldirect who are part of Admiral.
