seen this on the auto trader website
1999 SUBARU Impreza Turbo (UK Model)
5 Door, 1999, Facelift model, full stainless exhaust (Blitz), induction air filter (K&N), boost gauge, new 17 inch alloys, CL, SR, PAS, full leather interior, very good throughout, no offers or test pilots, had insurance claim hence, £3,499.
would it be hard to insure this vehicle

Not if you played the goon, declaring that , as far as you know, the car is standard. the mods, any mods will kill you for insurance. even alloys...ALLOYS for **** sake. They will up your premium more for declaring alloys and/ or ANY engine mods, more than saying your car will be parked on the road, rather than your drive.!

If it is at that price, I would say that it has be written off by the Insurance co, Bought back and put back on the road by either the owner or the insurance company sold it at an auction as a buy and repair. This will be recorded against the car and any HPI check will show this up.
Yes you will have to tell the Insurance co about it and chances are they will only cover you Third Party Only, you may however find a company willing to give you the other two options TPFT and Comp, In order for this they will need to know what category write-off it was.
