Question

I've currently got a Citroen ZX TD whilst waiting for my STI8 - which is happily insured through Barclays - max NCD, etc.

I obviously need to insure the STI when it arrives, but I want to keep the Citroen also.

Barclays tell me I need to set up a new policy, zero NCD, etc. etc. (so I would transfer the current insurance to the STI8 and go for a new policy for the Citroen)

Seems a right pain in the neck, as I expected them to do some form of multi-car policy.

Does anyone have any experience of a company that can sort out my insurance needs? Only about 3 months to run on the ZX so don't mind cancelling it really and setting up a completely new policy as from March for both cars...

Any help, advice or recommendations would be very welcome.

You're best bet is to call a broker, they will have policies to
suit your situation. 1st they will use your max ncd on the sti8 as this will be the higher risk car, and on the citroen do a policy that reflects the percentage discount on the 1st car, thus gaining
max discount on both cars.(if you can put the citroen in your partners name as should get a higher discount).

Norwich union do a multi car pol but works the same as above.

If you insure the ZX in your spouses name they will give her your NCD as well as yours on your STI8. If she damages the ZX this won`t affect your NCD.

I did this with my wife with a Punto GT while I had 4 yrs NCB on my 172.
