Performance mods or just makin a extra buck???

I have recently bought my MY98 Impreza and am now trying to renew my insurance.
The mota has an exhaust (rear section only) from scooby sport. I'm not sure exactly what it is but I asume its the real deal although not the full system.
Should I tell my insurance co about this???
Does it actually add BHP seeing as its only the rear section??
Its just the skankin scumbags want an extra £400 pa when I tell them about the exhaust and 17" wheels.

You should tell them, because if you are unfortunate and have to make a claim they WILL wriggle out of it !!.
Depending on your situation it may be worth changing companies, find one which is more mod friendly, but if you're like me with little no claims (having had a company car for six yrs), you just have to swallow the amounts these crooks add on, it's just cost me an extra £50 (10% of my total premium - but then I'm old) to add a set of new alloys, I tried to argue to point that the car came with alloy wheels and locking wheel nuts and all I was doing was changing the alloy wheels and locking wheel nuts to a different set, but they wouldn't have non of it !.
