I have just been quoted an extra £157 by Tesco.com.

How does this compare with any of you chaps that have already had the PPP fitted?

I am 41 yrs young, have a clean licence and the car is garaged.

Thanks

Some insurance companies just increase the rating of the vehicle by one group.
My previous Turbo was changed from group 17 to 18. Hope this helps!

I'm with Tesco and they charged me £67 to get me to the end of my policy (March), so your £157 sounds about right to me.

Thanks WJW

How long until your policy expires? Mine runs out MAY 2003.

Mine ends 29/03/03 which works out at £13/month extra.

12 months x £13 = £156 / annum

Exclamation

I paid an extra 10% of my policy after i had the PPP fitted to my MY00 turbo, (only renewed about 2 weeks before) the next year though they wanted even more money so told them where to get off after they gave me a load of tripe about other people having accidents (i told them that had i had an accident? they said no, so i said why penalise me? oh but insurance is on the up sir...) that was with Direct Line by the way, now with Liverpool Victoria who charged me 300 quid LESS!! with a lower excess

Beanchimp....

8 pence per annum?? Seems like a hell of a deal

Our rates for the STI Type UK are circa £100.00 (incl IPT) for the year on top of the annual premium....In most cases less than this in reality...

In many csaes for other models this amount is less....but I have to say 8p is a record!!! Any chance you could tell me who quoted that figure??

Cheers

Thanks for your input on this, it just proves that this site is a great tool for sharing information.

I must admit I did not know about the site before I bought the car but had I have done, I would have a good chance to obtain some better quotes for the car.

I had no idea about Scooby Insured for example.

Cheers..

I got quoted that by Craig at Subaru Insured, he said that it wouldnt make any difference in the premium

Maybe he was talking directly about my insurance, having points etc

said he used to work at tesco's, and they just add 25% for any mods, cos it increases performance

I had to go elsewhere in the end, cos he told me they wont touch parallel imports anymore
