Question

Just had my renewal through, £933, from Admiral who've not been too bad over the years but after getting a few phone numbers from this board last night I rang LV (0800 607607 Ian Davis?) last night to get a quote....£548.85!!!
UK MY98 Turbo(no mods),Cat1 alarm, Male33, 1 SP30, 1 SP50, 7 years NCD(Protected) includes legal assistance,windscreen,hire car replacement etc etc, I still can't see the catch.
Anybody got any comments on these insurers as it seems a very good quote to me but I want to maintain decent cover.
cheers...melon

Wierd. I've just got a decent quote off them too, but said to them "but you haven't asked me about the security on it, I've got a cat 1 etc"

"We don't take that into account sir"

Blimey!

Hmmm,

Must be me, I got the *worst* quote out of about six for a brand new standard UK WRX from LV, couldn't recommend them to anyone but good luck to ya!

Surprised at that Gary,
I was well impressed with that quote after expecting to pay around £800-900 anyway!!
Any reasons you know of for being uncompetitive?
and who are giving the cheaper quotes?
thanks...melon

I hear good things from them one year and bad the next I think there cycle for good quote must be this year

you notice how some companies are good one year and crap the next, hence they lower there rates to get you and just hope your one of these people they just renews all the time, without looking around.

Take it for a year and see what happens next the dear ones this might be better next year. depends on how many claims they have had over the year

Well its been sunny here in Bournemouth for a couple of days, maybe they're all happy workers by the sea and wanted to cheer us all up with cheap quotes.

RichB (who lives half a mile from their head office, by the seaside, lovely jubbly, anyone for an icecream?)
PS: They were cr4p for me

Best for me this year, too, by about 15%. But I can't remember the last time I've stayed with a company at renewal, it all changes so fast...

Awful for me......

Eventually got £1090 for a MY00 with mods to 285BHP, they quored £1585.

Maybe they don't like more than a few mods to a car?

oops my mistake

That was for Tesco!

LV gave me a quote that was only £100 more than my existing - so not that bad I guess

Only loaded me £100 for all my mods - Base quote was over £1100 though

Heard good reports about em.Few guys use em at work.In fact,I've just switched to them this evening (From Directline) and I got cover for £705 all in which includes protected no claims.Have a look at this thread for more info on my car mods etc......

Cheers

Nick

P.S: They never asked my about what security I had on the car and I flagged this up.They just said "It's not really that important to us"
