Any companies who may do a decent quote for me?

I'm with Adrian Flux - worth a try, as well as Greenlight...

Try confused.com you fill in your details once and they search 92% of online insurers for you then e-mail you the results and a link to the insurance companys, found this a lot easier than phoning around or searching the web.

It is also worthwhile giving your local broker a ring/visit as there can be some good schemes offered through them.

Sulli,

Whilst we could probably have a look for you, the fact that you've had a fault claim within the last 3 yrs will mean that I couldn't get you a protected NCB quote. Also the 7 points won't help you..

Have you tried Liverpool Victoria ? They are currently daft cheap for drivers 30+ and they don't seem to be too fussed about mods or points.. Sorry I don't have a contact number for them but I'd definitely recommend that you try them.

Cheers,

John

My renewal with Direct Line is £636 with protected NCB.

2002 WRX
Age - 37
3 Points
NCD - 5+ years
No mods
Not garaged - (Central Edinburgh)
Tracker already fitted

Liverpool Vic wanted £750+. Elephant were £1500!

Still looking around but don't think I'll get much better than DL>

bash... interesting how they asess risk.I guess edinburgh is lower risk than birmingham.
Anyone knows what makes up the cost of insurance
eg
insuarnce group 50% of cost
post code 30%
price of car 10%
nclaims 20% etc?
i know voluntary excess make very little differnece
just curious.

Try internet quote with Churchill (cheaper than phone)- MY94, aged 37, 'good' postcode - comp for £360. (Not protected cos I had two fault claims last year).

Bash,

Try Egg or Tesco (both underwritten by the same people so rates seem to be the same):

My details are the same as yours (except I'm a little older and don't have the points) and my premium is £540.
