think yourselves lucky you dont live in Northern Ireland. i changed my car to a 96 STi import and the insurance company wouldnt even quote me, but get this, i am 37 with no points and 7 years NCB. best i could do was 1600 with endsleigh until someone mentioned Quinns in Co. Caven.

best quote from Quinns was £520 3rd Party F+T of 1026 for fully comp. both protected no claims. guess which one i went for?

Cheers

big sinky

23 been driving MY99 turbo just over a year which has given me a year's no-claims. Voluntarily raised the excess which lowered the premium to just over a grand at Greenlight (with a few mods too ).

I was with Tesco last year with 0 NCB paying £1500 which was the best I could find.

Well if you think that the insurance is alot then you should see how much it costs to keep one of these cars on the road as it aint cheap either! (the insurance is the cheap bit!)

when i was 22, was paying £1400 with tradex (traders policy)
(drive any car upto the value of £15,000)
had a UK MY99 turbo
2 years NCB
12 points
2 x 3 month bans

now 24, (UK MY00 with a few mods)
with footman james, paying just over £1300
covers my 23 year old brother and up to 5 cars
4 years NCB, but 14 points now

only problem with traders policy is you onw get paid trade value if you write it off

mikee,

Thats quite a lot of points . Does 12 points still resulted in a ban?

Thanks

12 points are still a ban,
i wasnt banned by the court because if i would of lost my job,
have to sign on to dole and unable to pay the fine etc
(a freind has 18 points and never been banned)
