Problem insuring a Belgium import
#1
I have had a call from Keyring Cars to say that my new car will be delivered next week sometime....it's been a long wait!
What I'm having trouble with is a decent insurance quote:
Several insurers are having a problem with the car being importing from Europe. When I stress that it is a UK specification car and is a parallel import rather than one from Japan they simply don't seem to grasp it.
Tesco were good with a quote of £672 but insisted that it have a tracker fitted, which is something that I don't particularly want to spend £600 on!
Can you offer any help.
Since it's a UK specification car with a certificate of conformity , is it actually necessary to declare that it was purchased in Belgium?
Thanks for any help,
Mike

Try Liverpool Victoria - not bothered by Euro imports, security and allow you to modify a lot for very little. Very helpful. My premium this year has halved compared with Direct Line.
