Skyline GTR less to insure than an sti! Strange!

Got my renewal through today for my 95 WRX, £725 with £450 excess (£25 more than last year, so not too bad)
As I'm planning on getting a new car next summer, I thought I'd get quotes for couple of cars. My budget will be £18k approx, so I asked for quotes on an R33 Skyline GTR (1997), and an Sti7 (2000), both grey imports.
The skyline was £840 with £500 excess, just cat 1 alarm/immob required, but the Sti7 was a whopping £1029 + £550 excess, and it has to have a tracker fitted! Go figure...
Best get saving for the skyline, methinks!
