When to tell insurance about speeding offence.

Got pulled on friday for speeding in a 30. I have handed in my licence, thinn is..........when do I tell my insurance compay? now or at renewal?
Caught fair & square, in the courtesty car whilst the Scoob was gettin a service! A case of not knowing the area officer!!!

Just a word of warning, a mate of mine wrote his car off and was all set for a payout. When the insurance company checked up on him they found that he had a speeding fine during the year and hadn't informed them. Reading his policy (I didn't so just hearsay) no mention was made.
Anyway they didn't pay out and he lost the lot (ok not a scoob but the principal still there)
Don't wanna worry ya but beware, anyway I don't think it will affect your premiums cos your not insuring yaself against the fine.
