Default Double din question in bugeye

I have a bugeye 2002 that has been fitted with an aftermarket single din unit (really **** one) and a pocket under neath. If i take this am i going to be able to be able to pick up another double din unit and it it straight in or will it need any additional fixings?

You need to carefully pull off the surround and heater controls, there are 6 screws that hold the unit and adaptor in place. Remove them and pull the unit out so you can fit your new unit once connections are swapped.

I have just done the same thing on my Hawkeye. The previous owner had done the same thing with single din and pocket. When I came to fit a new double din I found that the original mount plates/screws were missing so I had to source some:

My only problem now is that I need a new surround as the previous owner has cut it to fit it the single din cage

Just a little note that hawkeye and bug/blob brackets are different. They sit at different angles in the hawkeye.
