My dad's got a JVC headunit (not sure of the model, I think it's just a pretty standard cassette jobbie though) that has been disconnected from the battery and so lost the code.
Think I've seen garage adverts for decoding radios, will that work? (If so, how does coding deter the thieving *******? )

You will also proberbly need the original purchase reciept for the headunit.
