Default Factory Sat Nav?

Good afternoon all,

Does anyone know if factory fit Sat Nav was ever an option on the 2002 Impreza STi, please?
I bought a Bug JDM STi a couple of monhs ago. At the time, there was an enclosure on top of the dash which I couldn't open-

I just assumed it was there for an option which wasn't requested. I tried a Google image search, and a browse through owners' pictures on here- No other cars appear to have this.
Then one night curiosity got the better of me, and with a bit of persuasion, I managed to open it, and found what looks like an LCD screen.

There was no power to it, and when I turned off the engine, it closed, apparently motor driven.
This morning, I removed the head unit, to find two free connectors-

There are no free sockets on the back of the head unit.
Any idea what they would plug into, please?

Thanks

looks custom, a factory loom would not have been sliced like that. Looks mint tho

Thanks, I more or less ruled out it being a custom job as the install looks soo good- but now I'm thinking it is an aftermarket job.

It turned out to be the LCD screen for factory fit sat nav, which apparently was only offered on JDM models.
