Default how to test an mono amp

just wondering whats the best way to test if an amp has gone or not

its not in my car anymore, but just stopped working 1 day with no power light on

can i rig it up to a 100v/240v supply then going through a ac-dc power supply to say 24v dc and then wire that to the amp?

if anyone can recommend how best to do this that would be great, or no anywhere local to me that would be able test it
