I got a new Alpine 8" Sat Nav unit (INE-W928R) on ebay and wasnt sure it was going to fit into my 2005 sti. It does but only just. I have taken some picture in case any one elce wants to install one.



Stereo and center dash out



I had to cut away some of the plastic from behind the dash to be able to move the unit higher then the standared unit as it would hit the AC control unit if left at the same high.



I had to cut loads of the front pannal away to make from for the 8" screen.




You need to flatten the side sterio mounts and cut a little away to posision the unit correctly.




Fits realy nicely. I have left as much of the top plastica as I can and the top of the screen fits behind it and only the top bezzal is covered.



It even opens and closes with out catching

i would recommend to paint your centre console black. the lines to the side of the stereo looks a bit wobbly. in black you wont be able to see them

ive just done exactly same mate in my hawkeye.i was nearly crying when i was using the dremmel to cut away aload of my console fascia so the unit would open.ive not done to bad a job altho my unit is a 7" screen.concidering having my console carbon wrapped now just to finish it off
