These are your door speakers, front?
If so, the water gets down the inside of the door past the window and it's seals. it should be small amounts and it should drain away at the bottom of the door. Check the seal gaps with the window up. They are adjustable. But likley to be a PITA to do as rusty

My aftermarket speakers have home-made plastic sheet-bits over their rear top parts, to help water bypass them. The mdf spacers are painted thickly to avoid damp.

Rears: some JDM cars came without, afaik, type R, type RA etc.

If it's a UK car, then yes, it should have rear speakers under the parcel shelf. The japs took everything ELSE off, even THEY wouldn't dare sell the cars with only one pair of speakers

Wagons had them in the doors, saloons on the rear parcel shelf.
