poor reception with new head unit
Hi all
Stuck a pionner head unit in my bugeye and the radio reception is now pants I assume there was a booster/amplifier in my standard head unit I went to halfords but they were useless and couldn't see what I needed on the shelf.
Anybody got a eBay link to what I need?
Thanks

you need to hook the the power antenna up to a 12v feed from the radio - the blue wire on adaptor looms is normally the one (12v accessory)
there is a thread about it somewhere 1 sec...

Hey
Im going to be fitting my new Alpine 9812 unit to my Classic WRX soon. I have orderd the wiring harness adaptor (3 quid thing of ebay). Thanks to Matt off here for it
Would i have to make a similar change to it with the aerial? as described in the link above.
I have attached some pic's to show what my setup is like. Bear in mind the adaptor set aint here yet.
Hope this kind of makes sense.

You might have to i used an Auto-Leads adaptor on mine and it still needed some wiring done on it. It's not hard though i used a Leatherman and it took about 10 minutes..

Amazing. Worked a treat on mine too by simply connecting the blue wire bullet connections! I've got this same cable as the remote for my sub. I like simple fixes
Thanks
