I've decided to upgrade my headunit from the standard crappy phillips job to something that sounds nice. I've narrowed the search down to probably the Sony cdxmp70 or the new Alpine unit.

Any recommendations for others I should look at and plus/minus points for the 2 already mentioned?

TIA

Hugh

You can't go far wrong.

Personally, I'd check that the ergonomics are right for you and go with the one that you can use the easiest. Look for big buttons with clear labels as small fiddly buttons aren't condusive to easy use to 70mph

A steering wheel mounted remote is a Godsend, too. I love the kenwood one.

Thanks, think I'm gonna go for the sony unit. Can normally trust Sony - and the unit looks nice with large volume and search rotary dials. How easy is DIY installation?
