Fitted newish head unit - No radio reception ??
Hi All,
Fitted a newish head unit, DVD/CD etc, to my 02 JDM WRX, noticed while fitting the car, has a Protech band expander fitted, was told the standard head unit, I took out was a UK spec one, this was receiving local stations fine.
The replacement does not pick up any thing, only fuzzy white noise
Any ideas please !!
I left the band expander in place, as it was previously running with the kenwood Subaru unit, the DVD unit is set on Euro band width
I also tried it with the expander unplugged and used the standard ariel lead from the car, which has a windscreen ariel btw............

Might be due to the aerial amp not getting any power. I think it's a blue wire in the loom. My 03 WRX has rear screen aerial with the amp box under the parcel shelf. Do a search as it's been asked about before.

Did that myself but the signal strength in cyprus was such that did not need the amp. It was only when I returned to the UK and had an alarm fitted i found there was no radio reception. Took the car back thinking they had damaged something and they found I had missed that wire.
