Speaker pods
I read in a post on here that you can get aftermarket speaker pods (maybe from a corsa?) that would allow you to fit 6.5" speakers under the doorcards of a 98 uk wagon...... but i can't seem to find the thread any more.
Has anyone done this that can point me in the right direction? i already have a decent set of speakers (2x6.5 and 2x5.5) brand new in their boxes, so ideally wanted to use them rather than buying a new set to fit the existing holes

You can get pods for a subaru from auto leads think the code sak 2820 these let you put 5.25 speakers in the doors but you will need to drill an extra hole in the door so they mount firmly.
Or the other option is to buy some 6" MDF rings and just space the speakers away enough from the door so the magnets dont hit the door

I tried making mdf adaptors, but i only had a coping saw so it took forever to do one and still needed an angled face to clear the door card properly - don't reckon i'll be able to get the face flat enough to give me a good seal round the speaker, so i've sacked it off as a bad idea.....
Have ordered a set of the corsa ones so fingers crossed they do the job. Only £7 delivered so got to be worth a try!! Will let you all know how they work out....
Thanks for the replies folks
